Destination tourism and interest in spa and wellness are all on the rise, and Arizona has taken notice.? After the success of the Sedona Spa Association and with 2012 marking the Centennial Year of Arizona, the state has decided to create the Arizona Spa & Wellness Association, Inc. (AZSpaWell), in order to enhance the state?s spa and wellness offerings and to grow along with the trends.

The association?s philosophy is ?We love what we do and we believe in the value of helping people enhance their lives, minds, bodies and selves.? Created to facilitate fun and rewarding ways in which spa industry professionals can come together to educate and inspire one another, the association also seeks to developing fun, new social experiences for professionals in Arizona to connect in spa, wellness, innovative health, fitness and lifestyle.

AZSpaWell is comprised of a group of spa and wellness professionals in Arizona that come from such leading spas as L?Auberge de Sedona, Enchantment Resort?s Mii amo Spa, Amara Resort and Spa, as well as companies such as Kerstin Florian and Pevonia. The association has partnerships with the World Research Foundation, American Spa, DSA, IMSA, LVSA and SpaFinder.

The first event slated is the Summer Wellness Event on July 12, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. This afternoon of wellness will be held at the Creative Life Center in Sedona, Arizona, and will feature wellness speakers, innovations in spa and wellness, emerging energy applications, express massages and light refreshments.
