The Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in the field of Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor with an expected start date of July 1, 2012.

Candidates with research expertise in any area of pure and applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. While we are open as to area of research expertise, the undergraduate teaching needs of the Department will play an important role in the selection process.

The University of Toronto is an international leader in mathematics research and education. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to participate actively in the Graduate Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto in addition to teaching in the undergraduate department. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in mathematics and must demonstrate excellent accomplishments and outstanding promise in research and must show evidence of excellence in teaching. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applications should be received by November 10, 2011 to receive full consideration. Application material for all positions should include the candidate?s complete C.V. including a list of publications, a research statement, a teaching statement and the AMS Standard Cover Sheet. Candidates should arrange to have at least four letters of reference, including at least one primarily addressing the candidate?s teaching.
